History of Fairy Meadows
Fairy Meadows is a high alpine plateau at the base of Nanga Parbat, the world's ninth-highest peak. Named 'Märchenwiese' (fairy meadows) by German climbers in the 1930s, it served as base camp for early Nanga Parbat expeditions and remains one of Pakistan's most photographed wilderness landscapes.
