History of Faisalabad
Founded in the 1890s as Lyallpur by the British, Faisalabad was planned around its famous eight-bazaar Clock Tower in the pattern of the Union Jack. It became — and remains — Pakistan's textile capital, often called the 'Manchester of Pakistan', and a major industrial and agricultural hub of Punjab.
